Listen To Me

Listen to me. Three small words were spoken gently. Why are they hard to do when a woman has the cares of a busy home? We forget to stop and just listen.

Listen to Me

Silence.

Then soft whispers.

Listen to me. Sit with me. Pray With me. Read my wisdom.

I can hear Him, but I’m too busy.

Laundry. Dishes. Phone calls. Meals to cook.

Then I could feel it in my spirit.

Parched. Dry. Empty.

I keep plugging away.

Listen to me. Sit with me. Pray with me. Read my wisdom.

I can hear Him, but I’m too busy.

 Limbs grow heavy.

Eyes become blurry.

My soul is tired.

A heart is dry.

Listen to me. Sit with me. Pray with me. Read my wisdom.

I listen.

I sit.

I pray.

I read.

My limbs become light.

My eyes can see clearly.

My soul is alive.

My heart is quenched.

I have peace.

I feel loved.

I found my joy again.

It’s so easy to get caught up in our day and forget to pause. Take time. Slow Down. Pray. When I set aside everything I am doing and sit for a moment and spend time with God; I’m a new person. Busyness can become an idol in our lives. We can feel as though every spare moment should be filled with SOMETHING.

That something we are really looking for is Jesus. We were made to be loved. Created to need a Saviour. There’s a hole inside our sould that was meant to be filled by him alone.

Take time each day to be filled.

Pray.

Listen.

Revive.
