Do you ever wonder if God has more he wants to give you than you have now? Has the thought of praying for abundance sounded selfish to you?
I felt the same way.
One morning I was having a moment with God when I felt one of those hugs in my soul.
“Cindy, I want you to pray for abundance each morning.”
I shook my head, God couldn’t possibly ask me to pray for more stuff?
Then he revealed to me that abundance isn’t STUFF; its blessings God wants to give to us – his children.

He is a kind and generous father, who has endless resources, and beautiful moments he wants to bless us with.
When I began to pray for abundance – my life changed:
💗Amazing opportunities
💗Life-changing moments with people
💗My children being blessed
💗Kindness from strangers
💗Messages from people who care
…the list was endless.
Was it prosperity…no, not necessarily.
I never told God what I wanted. I just prayed each morning, “God bless me abundantly, with whatever you want to give me.” At first, it felt strange to be praying something so BIG in my mind.
Somehow I believed I didn’t deserve to be spoiled by my heavenly father.
But God wanted me to believe differently.
Does that mean I will always have a house, car, clothes, and food? Maybe – maybe not. It’s up to God what he chooses to give to me each day. It’s been different from one day to the next.
Sometimes my abundance is giving to others. God will ask me to bless another person. But I always feel like I’m the one receiving God’s generous gift when I walk away with a joyful heart.

God desires that we pray this prayer without ulterior motives. Just an open heart to receive anything he wants to give us – guilt-free- thanking him when he gifts us!
I felt guilty at first: like I didn’t deserve these beautiful gifts God was lavishing on me. But then he reminded me that I am the daughter of a King- a princess of his Heavenly Kingdom- created to receive his kindness.
Recently, my daughter-in-law, Jazmin, and I were talking as we drove the four-hour drive from her home to mine. She was telling me that she always prays expectantly to God.
Jazmin believes God wants to bless her abundantly.
She shared with me how her dad, Aaron, has always been very generous to her and her sister Vangie. He loves to lavish his girls with presents and good deeds.
Jazmin was in bed one day because she has stage four cancer, at the young age of twenty. She heard her bedroom door open and then a voice, “Jazmin are you okay? Do you need anything?”Aaron had come over to check on Jazmin since he lives five minutes away, and her husband and my son, Eythan, was at work.

Jazmin has grown up believing God is like her earthly father; he wants to take care of her and bless her with his love and kindness.
As Jazmin hopped in the back seat of the car to have a nap, I thought about our conversation as I drove in silence, and also played the Christian radio station. Jazmin looks like Sleeping Beauty when she rests. She has a peaceful look on her face. Most people battling cancer, don’t live with peace…Jazmin is unique in this way.
She had also said something very profound, “I have changed how I pray this year. I now pray “Lord my life is yours. Whether I live or die, I am at peace with it, and I want to glorify you either way.” She still prays asking God to heal her but she is at peace with his final decision.
I believe the prayer Jazmin prayed is the heart of a daughter who has experienced a Father’s, abundant love. She now trusts God with her life and is willing to accept anything he wants to give her.
Jazmin’s abundance is peace.
My heart towards God has changed drastically in the past five years. God went from one extreme in my mind, to another. I now believe him to be wonderful, kind, loving, generous, and genuinely concerned about me.
How about you, do you view God as a father who would withhold blessings from you unless you behave yourself, do what’s right, and obey him one hundred percent of the time? Have you believed him to be a God who is ready to punish his children every time they mess up?
God desires that you see the beautiful side of his relationship with you. He is also forgiving, patient, generous, fair, holy, righteous, and merciful. Does he discipline us? Yes, he does! But it’s through the heart of a father who loves his children and wants you to have a life filled with peace, no matter what you’re going through.
God is waiting for you to pray, “Lord, bless me with abundance.”
Would you be willing to wake up each morning and pray this prayer with me? Maybe you have already been praying this prayer. I would love to hear your stories and have you comment below of how God blessed you with abundance, so others can see this beautiful side of God also.
He wants to bless you…are you willing to receive his beautiful gifts. Ask him to change your perspective and begin to believe his Father-heart has so much more to give you than what you have now.
He is waiting for you to ask him💗
